Around the city, billboards and writings welcoming Benazir are scattered on walls and roundabouts. But Benazir is gone, and a sense of depression and grief pervails. The January 7 election day has also come and gone, and no one knows what will happen next, or what more will be done to postpone elections. We are living in uncertainty—much more bloodshed is forecast—and people have created a temporary memorial for Benazir outside Bilawal House. Here, they lay down fresh roses and gather to remember her.
